Newark Symphony Hall proudly presents the 5th annual When Praises Go Up Gospel Showcase honoring Gospel recording artist Minister Donnie Harper on Sunday, December 13, 2015 beginning at 4 pm in the Sarah Vaughan Concert. Minister Creasha McCall, a featured vocalist for this year’s showcase sat down to talk about his upcoming performance. Read the brief interview below.
With this being your first time participating in the When Praises Go Up! Gospel Showcase, how did you hear about the event?
I heard about the event actually searching for upcoming events taking place in NJ. I wont say it was an accident, I’ll just say it was perfect timing.
When did you know ministry was your calling?
I knew ministry was my calling after surviving the trials of life through my faith and total dependence on Christ. Ministry was always in me but God had to prepare me to be an instrument to encourage others to trust in him remembering that There is Power in the Name of Jesus and that’s why I chose that song for the Showcase.
Your EP Free to Worship is now available on Spotify, iTunes and CDBaby! What was the inspiration behind the EP?
The EP was inspired by my christian journey and wanted to encourage people that you can be Free through Jesus!!!
What’s next for Minister Creasha McCall?
2016 looks bright! We are currently planning some great events for next year, going back in the studio to finish the project, and just ministering where ever the Lord leads me!
When Praises Go Up Gospel Showcase is a yearly event put on by the venue to help local gospel artists showcase their talents and abilities as well as local churches to share the message of the Lord with others.
