Newark Symphony Hall's Trunk Or Treat 2019

Newark Symphony Hall's Trunk Or Treat 2019
Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 11am-4pm

We would absolutely love to have you join us!

Things are going UP here at Newark Symphony Hall! We have a new CEO and President, Taneshia Nash Laird, who is an amazing arts advocate, we've had some amazing events and now preparing to do even GREATER things. Newark Symphony Hall (NSH) is a community cultural center in Newark's most historic arts facility. It is our goal to provide safe, fun entertainment as we bridge the gap between generations through art.

This leads me to our next awesome event... HALLOWEEN! Popular Halloween costumes may change every year, but over the past few decades, trick-or-treating has stayed essentially the same: "Grab a pillowcase and some friends, and then go door-to-door threatening your neighbors to give you something good to eat or face the wrath of your stinky feet." Or so the timeless saying goes.

Over the years, a trend has bubbled up in cities nationwide, particularly in places where you may not know your neighbors very well, or where houses are so far apart that by the time the kids have hit the 4th house, everyone's ready to call it a night. It's called Trunk-or-Treating, and the premise is simple: A bunch of art educators/parents/professionals band together, deck out their trunks with Halloween decorations like they are starring in a Spectacular Edition of a Classic Car Show and let their kids meander from car to car, collecting candy at each stop while enjoying the AMAZING festivities.

The benefits of Trunk or Treats are well-known: less walking for little kids, a safer environment for Halloween, and fun for everyone! We are looking for participants to let their creative juices flow. If you would like to participate and are hesitant because you feel that you may lack creativity to make your car look jovial, no problem at all. Donate your trunk! We have creatives waiting to deck out your "HOT ROD" (minivan). Candy donations are welcomed as well.

On Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 11am-4pm, be a part of making our first Halloween Adventure memorable for our community here at Newark Symphony Hall!

To join us in these festivities and show case your artistic creativity register here!

For more information call Cisely Martin-Breeden, 973-643-4550 ext. 122.
