Children's Performing Arts Academy

"The principles of true art is not to portray, but to evoke." - Jerzy Kosinski (novelist)

An education that includes the arts stirs up a child's individual artistry and is an essential component for every child's development that will ensure a successful life in and out of the typical educational school environment. We strive to identify and develop the artistic talents of children and to help them use those talents to succeed in school and life; and where appropriate, access further artistic training. Students engaged in arts classes will learn lifelong skills and prepare them for their adult lives, such as building confidence by speaking in front of audiences and stepping out of their comfort zones and practicing to think creatively by reciting and delivering lines in varied ways, which will later come more naturally to them.

Through evaluation methods, like individual assessments, documentation, evaluations and collaborating with school staff, not only do we use data to guide our future decisions regarding program management, but help correlate arts education success to academic success as well.

Art is Hope,

Mrs. Cisely Martin-Breeden

Newark Symphony Hall's Community Theater and the Children's Performing Arts Academy (CPAA) presents
In Between Time
Newark Symphony Hall
2pm (First Show)
$10

Rescheduled from December 15. All previously bought tickets will be honored.

The holiday season is often filled with the hustle and bustle of life. Many times we are seen fighting to get the first or last item for gift giving or rushing to make travel reservations. However, what about those who are less fortunate? Those with no place to call home or suffering from loss? Can you imagine how happy they would be to experience just one of our "bad days?" We even find the purpose of spending time together and appreciating the things we already have to be insignificant. Newark Symphony Hall presents its highly anticipated holiday production "In Between Time." This original stage play from writer, producer and CPAA Program Director, Mrs. Cisely Martin-Breeden, uncovers how we often get distracted by the tangible while ignoring the intangible. We invite you to be a part of this amazing holiday event. Bring your family together for an awesome night of theater featuring... YOU!
