Development Manager – Part Time

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to generate the necessary annual contributed revenue for Newark Symphony Hall's (NSH) operations, programming and capital needs. This position will also manage, develop, implement and monitor, donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and communication with individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies, as well as overseeing special events. This position will be responsible for managing the entire grant application and reporting process for NSH including coordination of internal record keeping and preparation of interim and final reports to donors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree or degree in related arts field.
  • Five years development & fundraising experience, preferably in a performing arts environment.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of development resources in the state of New Jersey and nationally.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Results and detail oriented.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the general public.
  • Leadership, organization, time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and fundraising software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
